Helping communities build safer, healthier spaces through training, planning, and lifesaving equipment.
North Central District Health Department offers several program and training opportunities to improve emergency preparedness and increase access to lifesaving resources across our communities. Many provided through or in collaboration with the American Heart Association.

CPR TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
CPR/AED/First Aid Classes

Community members, organizations, schools, and workplaces can participate in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) training courses designed to increase confidence and preparedness during emergencies.
What We Offer:

Heartsaver CPR Classes ⟶ For the general populus, non-medical professionals

Basic: CPR/AED for Adult, Child, Infant + Simple First Aide

Total: Basic + (Full) First Aid

BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR Classes ⟶ For medical professionals, with access to or advanced medical equipment, to build coordination and team skills during a cardiac event

Example: CNA, EMT, Nursing Home/ Assisted Living Staff and support Staff, Nursing Students, Dentists, Doctors, etc..

Out of Office Class Policy:
Minimum of 8 participants per class. Businesses with fewer than 8 participants that wish to maintain a private class will be charged the full class minimum (course price × 8 participants).

Organizations are strongly encouraged to develop a Cardiac Emergency Response Plan (CERP) to help staff respond quickly and effectively during a cardiac emergency.
“The American Heart Association Cardiac Emergency Response Plan (CERP) is a written document that establishes the specific steps to reduce death from cardiac arrest in any setting – be it a school, community organization, workplace, or sports facility.”

AED PAD REPLACEMENT PROGRAM
Replace Expired or Used AED Pads
It is important to know where an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) can be found in the event of a Cardiac Emergency. Expired AED pads can reduce emergency readiness. This funding opportunity helps organizations maintain functional and up-to-date equipment.
