Measles is Back—Here’s How to Stay Safe
There have been some recent cases of measles, and we want to help you stay safe and informed. Don’t worry. Here we will explain how to protect yourself and your family, and what to watch for.

Stop Measles
Measles spread very easily. The best way to stay safe from measles is by getting the MMR vaccine (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella). It has been used safely since 1971.
-
One dose of MMR = 93% protection
-
Two doses = 97% protection
Most children get the first dose at 12–15 months, and the second dose at 4–6 years old. In special cases, like during an outbreak or when traveling, children can get the vaccine as early as 6 months.
Most people born before 1957 are usually protected from measles.
Talk to your doctor if you are traveling, were exposed to measles, or if you’re not sure what to do.
